{"id":94,"date":"2009-07-09T00:30:19","date_gmt":"2009-07-09T05:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marvalisa.com\/blog\/?p=94"},"modified":"2011-08-31T13:21:42","modified_gmt":"2011-08-31T18:21:42","slug":"head-in-the-clouds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marvalisa.com\/blog\/?p=94","title":{"rendered":"Head in the Clouds&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"cloud-9.jpg\" href=\"https:\/\/marvalisa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/cloud-9.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/marvalisa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/cloud-9.thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"cloud-9.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Cloud 9&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I spent the day inside and I completed 1 out of 5 paintings that are due before the end of the month.\u00a0 I am working to complete a mini-series of paintings that I began in 2006.\u00a0 The series title is called &#8220;Cloud 9&#8221; I have exhibited pieces from this incomplete series on a number of occasions.\u00a0 The title came from the euphoric feeling I felt; like floating on a cloud, the first time I had an offer to show my work at the Black Fine Art Show in New York.\u00a0 In the first &#8220;Cloud 9&#8221; painting the image floated in the center of the canvas with a white textured background, like a cloud floating in the sky.\u00a0 This was a complete\u00a0 deviation from my usual style which consisted of the entire image being wrapped around the canvas.\u00a0 This will also be the theme for my September exhibition at The Charles H.
