{"id":271,"date":"2009-08-06T17:28:04","date_gmt":"2009-08-06T22:28:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marvalisa.com\/blog\/?p=271"},"modified":"2011-08-31T13:21:14","modified_gmt":"2011-08-31T18:21:14","slug":"my-work-is-never-done","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marvalisa.com\/blog\/?p=271","title":{"rendered":"My work is never done&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-273\" title=\"The Master Plan 4x3\" src=\"https:\/\/marvalisa.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/The-Master-Plan-4x3-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"The Master Plan 4x3\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>Now it&#8217;s paperwork time!\u00a0 There is more to having a solo exhibtion than displaying pretty pictures and there is more to being an artist than the artwork.\u00a0 There is still the business side of things which most artist <em>do not<\/em> care to become involved in.\u00a0 There are the marketing details, mailing list, postcards\/invites, inventory list, graphic designing (if you do your own like I do), labels, pricing, titles for the work, updating your bio and artist resume, and shipping if you are out of state.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I have learned from experience that a successful exhibition begins with planning out the details.\u00a0 I compile list and I set goals and everything is about timing.\u00a0 Typically, the gallery handles the details for the artist, however, as exhausting as the details maybe\u00a0 I have come to know that my contribution to my own solo\u00a0 exhibtion can have an effect on it&#8217;s success rate.
